So you want a stream of traffic right now?
There is an opportunity to get lots of traffic in the “blog about blogging” niche right now. It’s based on this general principle:
Watch for opportunities to have your posts highlighted by an A list blogger in your niche.
I watched: this involves reading the A-list of bloggers I admire.
I saw that Pro-blogger, Darren Rowse was requesting posts for his current series: 31 Days to Building a Better Blog.
He is posting links with full titles. So, this is an opportunity for you to get a link on Darren’s site and get some readers. Who wouldn’t jump?
I wrote one. I can now report that Darren’s readers are clicking and reading. Darren’s readers are devoted to good information — it’s not just “the cult of Darren”. Plus, Darren filters the posts somewhat to make sure they are decent, so if you visit the list of links, you will find good posts you will want to read.
But most importantly to you: I got more than 60 visits the day his list came out. The number dropped, but I got a few a day for some time. I’m still getting a few a day (though I haven’t checked today.)
No, I’m not going to tally them. It’s a bunch. And I did nothing more than write what I consider to be a good article in my niche and submitted it to Darren’s series.
Because Darren is a true quality blogger, I’ll probably get some a few referrals a month from Darren forever.
So, the final word: submit something to Darren’s project.

glad it brought some new readers over!
Wow! Thanks for the comment.
Hi Lucia. Good point - I must try to do this. Of course, as I’m still fairly new to blogging, I haven’t quite worked out who the A-list are yet… I am starting to find I keep coming back to certain blogs (such as yours!) that I find through Bumpzee.
Steve–
My blog is definitely not A-list! (It’s wanna be A list, but then so is everyone’s.)
My blog is actually rather new, which is one of the reasons the theme is hardly customized etc. The BIG part of my traffic is the plugins.
That said, Bumpzee is a great resource for us. I like the blog communities centered around ideas or functions.
I know what you mean about plugin traffic. I’d been getting 5 or 10 visitors a day and the release of my plugin shot it up over a 100. It’s tailoring off now though. I can imagine that a really popular plugin would create a huge traffic boost.
As it happens, while I like posting, I love writing plugins. I’ve got another 4 that I’m writing right now!
